I was raised in a Christian home thanks to my parents who made it a priority to raise us in church. They were Sunday School teachers, but I never really felt like I was forced to go to church. I saw how important church was for my parents in their individual lives and I remember growing up and thinking I wanted to be like that. More specifically, when I was 8, the Sunday School lesson was on David and Goliath. Every Sunday night before I went to bed my mom would always ask me what the lesson was on that day. This specific night I told her it was David and Goliath, and she told me that David had faith that God would protect him. She said she’ll never forget that next I rolled over and said that I wanted to show people that faith. The cool thing about this story is I don’t think when it comes to your testimony that it stops there. My story has been continually growing over time and there’s been moment after moment of my life where I can point and say, “This is the refining process of the Lord.”
I ended up at Christ Chapel through a friend, Victoria Davis. We worked at Pine Cove together and while she was visiting a mutual friend at Louisiana Tech, I told her that I was heading to Southwestern for seminary and was looking for a job at a church. She connected me to Life Stage 1, and through Kevin Libick, I got connected to Johnny Farr and HSM. The funny thing about Victoria is that at Pine Cove she was also the friend/mediator between myself and my then girlfriend/now fiancée. Between the two, I’m pretty much indebted to her forever. Now that I’m here at Christ Chapel, I’m excited to be a part of HSM. High school is a very informative time and it’s important that the gospel is part of that.
As I mentioned earlier, I’m getting married in June 2018. I’m also huge New York Yankees fan.
