Paul encourages the Corinthian believers with the hope of their future glorified bodies and their call to be ministers and ambassadors of reconciliation.

As 2 Samuel opens, David is mourning the deaths of Saul and Solomon. These passages reveal a lot about David’s designation by God as a man after His own heart. Despite all that Saul had done to him, David never lost his love and respect for the man and the title he held as king.

We must overcome perceived risks in order to ask for a response as we share the gospel with others.

In order to not lose heart, Paul highlights the privilege of ministry, God’s empowerment for ministry, and the importance of keeping an eternal perspective.

In this lesson, we will pick up the story of David’s second attempt to seek refuge among the Philistines. This is one of many occasions when David tried to come up with his own plan for solving the problem of Saul.

We relate to those who need Jesus as we share in our common need for a Savior and sympathize with their same struggles.

Paul explains the glory of the old covenant and the surpassing glory of the new covenant, along with how Christ unveils human hearts so that they see God’s glory and grow in sanctification.

This section of 1 Samuel covers David’s fun-filled days as a fugitive. He is a man on the run, forced to live in hiding to escape the unrelenting wrath of Saul.

We are called to be Jesus’ ambassadors to the world.
