The Leadership Residency gives you an experience to learn educationally and respond vocationally at the same time — combining seminary coursework from Dallas Theological Seminary, which counts toward a seminary degree, and hands-on ministry alongside our pastors and staff. Immerse yourself in theology, grow exceptionally, and discover practically how God has uniquely shaped you for leadership in his church.
As a resident, you will commit around 25 hours per week to the program, which includes class time, ministry training, participation in a residency community group, and occasional retreats and service trips. This rhythm is designed to help you experience discipleship and ministry in a hands-on way.
A typical residency year includes a variety of courses, covering Spiritual Formation, doctrine, Bible study methods, theology, and leadership skills. Classes are taught by a combination of Dallas Theological Seminary professors and Christ Chapel staff, offering a mix of in-person, online, and hybrid formats.
Being a part of the life and body of the church is at the heart of the program, with on-campus housing, weekly community groups, cohort-style classes, specific ministry teams, and one-on-one mentorship.
Christ Chapel offers 15 ministry placements, and our goal is to place you where you can grow, serve, and make an impact. As we walk through the interview process, we’ll consider your calling, gifts, and passions alongside the needs of our ministry teams to find the best fit. Opportunities include Kids, Students, Worship, Soul Care, Local Outreach, Special Needs, Communications, and more — each giving you a chance to step into meaningful ministry and discover how God has uniquely equipped you.
The Christ Chapel Leadership Residency (CCLR) is for those who have completed their undergraduate degree and want to explore vocational ministry in a hands-on, dynamic environment. As a resident, you’ll serve across a variety of ministry teams, using your unique gifts on meaningful projects. Along the way, you’ll be mentored, encouraged, and challenged to discover your specific calling and how God has shaped you to serve in His church.
As a resident, our goal is for you to focus fully on growth and ministry. To support that, on-campus housing is provided, and your tuition is covered 100% (you’ll be responsible for fees and books). You’ll also receive a $1,500 salary to help you settle in and start your residency well.
