Paul resumes his personal testimony as an apostle to the Gentiles, explaining the characteristics of his ministry, his future plans and his godly ambition to make more disciples.

Christians have different opinions over the significance of certain “nonessential” practices which the Scriptures neither forbid nor command. Paul helps us preserve love and unity in the Christian family by determining what is important, what is not, and how to treat each other when we disagree about issues of preference.

In light of the fact that our Lord’s coming is nearer than ever before, we must glorify God and not gratify our flesh, and above all love one another, as we await His appearing.

Governments are an authority instituted and empowered by God., and they are also accountable to God. What then is the Christian’s relationship with their government to be, as citizens of a heavenly kingdom who are ambassadors for Jesus in this world?

After giving instructions about how to get along with other believers, Paul moves to how we should behave with unbelievers outside of Christ and those who persecute us.

Through Romans chapter 11 Paul writes about orthodoxy, or the “what” of our faith in Christ. Now starting in chapter 12 he turns a corner and writes the rest of the book about orthopraxy, or the “how” of living our faith. His instructions begin inside the church community itself, for we must learn how to love one another before we can show the rest of the world how the love of Jesus is different.

There are no disciples without salvation, so it’s crucial that a follower of Jesus intentionally obeys His command to share the gospel with everyone, everywhere.
