A Reason to Reach
Thank you for coming this far on our journey for 21 Days of Reach! We know that there is uncertainty and nervousness that comes with telling people about Jesus and our prayer for us as a church is that we would remember the reasons we reach. In December, everywhere you turn, there’s a nativity scene. By all appearances, it looks like the world has heard the beginning of the story — but what about the rest of it? Jesus came once, and he’s coming again. What should we expect?
“Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. And he who was seated on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.’”
– Revelation 21: 1-5
We reach out with invitations to Christmas Eve not because we’re trying to fill seats but because we want to fill heaven. May this Christmas be a time where we as his people direct our gaze to the King, tapping others on the shoulders to join us and hopefully, whether on Christmas Eve or beyond that day, they will only know about the rest of the story … they’ll experience it themselves.
