Almost 70 years after returning home after their exile to Babylon, the Israelites wondered if the promises of a new Jerusalem would ever be fulfilled. The prophet Zechariah answers their concerns through dreams and visions, challenging God’s people to remain faithful.

There are no disciples without salvation, so it’s crucial that a follower of Jesus intentionally obeys His command to share the gospel with everyone, everywhere.

At the conclusion of the temple dedication, Solomon blesses the people and they all sacrifice to God. Then God appears to Solomon and calls the people to continued obedience.

n this lesson, we meet Elihu, the enigmatic and highly confident representative of the younger generation. Undeterred by the wisdom of his more senior companions, Elihu steps up to the podium and waxes eloquent for six very dense and repetitive chapters. Undeterred by his young age, Elihu dresses down his elders, accusing them of having failed miserably in their efforts to convict Job.

The remnants of Israel who returned from exile have let their priorities become self-centered when they should have been focused on God, so Haggai encourages the people to continue rebuilding the temple.

The ark of the covenant enters the temple and the presence of God fills the temple. Solomon dedicates the temple and prays for the people.
