Solomon reminds us that the only certainty in life is that it is short, and our circumstances during life can be uncertain and unpredictable. He directs believers to enjoy God’s good gifts and points us to the certainty that comes after this life – in Christ, we have a rich inheritance!

Daniel’s vision spans from Belshazzar’s reign to the Second Coming, revealing God’s pre-ordained and sovereign plan for His people.

Peter lists the qualities pursued by the Christian growing in sanctification.

Jesus desires us to live righteously, or in a right relationship with God. The posture from which we live out this righteousness matters. By embracing the right identity, living before the right audience, and following the right example, our practice of righteousness becomes genuine, without feeling the need to perform.

Daniel receives the first of six visions about the future of God’s chosen people and must rely on divine help to understand its disturbing imagery.

Life can seem unfair when unjust circumstances challenge our faith in God’s goodness. Solomon encourages wisdom and prudence as practical ways to respond to the injustices we face.

Peter opens his second epistle by emphasizing grace and truth.

The goal of the Christian life has never been to find fairness, but to chase a relationship with God, continuously learning what it looks like to reflect His image. By loving our enemies and praying for those who persecute us, we are choosing to exemplify the same common grace and uncommon love shown to us by our Father.

Daniel remains sovereignly positioned under another king, while the focus stays on God’s faithfulness and power in the face of opposition.
