College Ministry

Your home away from home.

What we’re

about

Sadly, Christians are typically known for the things they’re against, rather than the things they’re for. Here’s what we’re about.

JESUS

Jesus is the point. Our sin and brokenness has separated us from God. But Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection has restored for us an opportunity to have a personal relationship with God. We now get to approach God with humble boldness and gracious confidence as sons and daughters. Not because of anything we’ve done, because of who Jesus is and what he's done for us.

THE WORD OF GOD

We believe God has graciously chosen to reveal Himself to us through His Word: the Bible. And our response is that we strive to be a people who treasure the Word of God shown by our knowledge of it and our obedience to it.

LOOKING LIKE JESUS

Jesus is the man. The Bible calls Him the Lion and the Lamb. That means He’s strong, bold, courageous and hates sin. But He’s also merciful, empathetic, compassionate and gracious. The more we follow Jesus, the more we figure out how to look like Him and reflect His character to those around us.

PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW JESUS

It’s completely possible to enjoy life if you don’t know Jesus. The problem is that Jesus came to give life and life abundantly. That means you’ll never experience fullness of life without a relationship with the One who offers it most extravagantly. We have a heart for people who don’t know Jesus because we truly believe they’re shortchanging themselves.

PEOPLE WHO ARE MARGINALIZED

God tells us that He has created every person in His image. We call it the imago dei. That means every single person has an inherent dignity that should be respected. We strive to protect and fight for those created in the image of God when their dignity is under attack.

UNCOMMON COMMUNITY

It's often that we find ourselves in circles of people who are like us; what we like to do, how we like to dress, what we like to eat, etc.

But what would it look like to be with those who aren't like us? To be together others and not have anything in common yet still be connected on a deeper level? That's Uncommon Community and we believe it is uniquely found in the Gospel.

JOY

Life can be pretty brutal. But Jesus provides a joy that doesn’t change when our circumstances do. He helps us see that our hope is not in this world, but in Jesus and His promise to restore and redeem this broken world. So we endure the ups and downs of this life with joy because we know our hope is in Jesus, not our circumstances.

Cultivate

Summer 2023
Three individual two-week sessions where you will be challenged to grow in your knowledge of who God is, as well as what it looks like to follow and serve him in the local church and the  workplace.

What you can expect from us

Development in the Christian life can be thought of in three different categories: the head, the heart, and the hands. Throughout your session, the evening trainings will uniquely focus on these three categories to help connect your faith into your everyday life.

Our hope is that you grow in the knowledge of God, your affection for Him, and in the ways you serve Him.

We believe that belonging to a local church family means serving your church family, and we want to provide ways for you to do that!

Each session will uniquely partner with other ministries within Christ Chapel Bible Church to provide you with an opportunity to not only see other parts of our church, but serve alongside them. Depending on your session, you will have the chance to get a behind-the-curtain view of our children’s, middle school, or high-school ministries as well as be a part of their summer programming and/or trips.

Each two-week session will heavily revolve around cultivating a community to belong to. One of the ways we hope to do that is simply enjoying the summer together!

In between all the serving, learning, and growing we’ll be doing, we’ll also do things like share meals, hit the pool, and go to the drive-in movie theatre together! Each session will also include one overnight retreat to unplug and rest.

What We can expect from you

Maybe you’ve heard the phrase, “you’ll get out what you put in.” And that could not be more true for your Cultivate experience. We understand that summer is a prime season for getting that internship and/or other employment opportunities (shout out, Mamaka Bowls) and that’s why we want to make sure you can see each session’s schedule well in advance!

Each session looks slightly different, so our hope and expectation is that if you can commit to a session then you will be fully present and bought into it. Want to do a specific session, but have something like a wedding or a previous obligation? Hit us up!

We believe belonging to a church family means being willing to serve your church family. Serving others is both reflective of Jesus and an extension of how he loves the world: “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve…” (Mark 10:45, ESV). Our hope is that you find both a willingness and a joy in serving your church.

Each session costs $100! This cost helps offset any meals, books, resources, etc. that we will provide you with.

Summer Session 1
 May 28 – June 10
Summer Session 2
 June 11 – June 23
Summer Session 3
 June 25 – July 9

The Story of God: One story from Genesis to Revelation

The Story of God is the story of a powerful King who graciously calls people into a relationship with himself. And it begins, well, way back in the beginning. Once you know the whole story, you can read any of those biblical books and know how they fit, you can recognize the unchanging goodness and greatness of God over all time, you can see His gracious purpose and plan working through all human history.

Serving is one of the ways that we get love others like how Jesus has loved us. And we want to help connect you with several opportunities to serve those within this ministry as well as those in the city of Fort Worth.
