Renovate

Be seen. Be known. Be loved.

We are a community of young adults being renovated by Jesus, for Jesus. We are for those who are far off … to be brought near to a gracious and worthy God. And we are for those near … to be sent out to a radical and obedient mission.

Through weekly community, we live and work purposefully in our city, and we host big gatherings each month. We hope you can come get connected at one of these opportunities!

Renovate groups are communities that men or women call home, and are a place to experience Bible-centered, transparent living where you can be loved, encouraged and challenged to grow in your walk with Jesus alongside others. So, if you want to find a community to call your own, we would love for you to sign up for a group!

Leadership Training

We define “leader” as someone who is fully devoted to following Jesus and wants to live their life making an impact for Him wherever they go.

If that’s you, we’d like to invite you into our leadership community this year! We want to spend each semester developing maturity in your walk with God so that you can be fully obedient to His call on your life.

Meetings are on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Chapel, and include a free dinner.

FAQs:

Make participation a high priority! There will be post-work and pre-work on many of the weeks. It’s not burdensome, but it will be important to make some margin for so that you can get the most out of the time together each week.

Let us speak into your life. We’ll ask you to agree to a Leadership Covenant during registration, which outlines ways our church staff can help you in your discipleship journey.

Yes and no! Yes, being a disciple of Jesus will cost you your life! But no, you won’t have to pay anything to attend these trainings. We’ll provide free dinner, great content and a community of other leaders who will hold you accountable to learning about and carrying out your mission!

We’d like for you to sign up for each semester, similar to the way you would enroll in a college course. Each fall we will cover about 9 sessions of basic content, and each spring we will cover about 13 sessions of application-oriented content.

Essentially, yes, you can attend semesters like a block. If you miss the fall, come in the spring and then enroll in the next semester in the fall.

But we don’t want you to commit for a semester and not be able to attend several of the sessions, as the content will be presented live and you will miss important chunks that will ultimately build throughout each semester.

Not exactly. We want as many people as possible to come and learn about being a mature disciple (leader) for Jesus in our community. However, because of this desire, people need to have that same mission. If someone doesn’t believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, how can they learn and grow in their mission and obedience?

Please utilize our monthly events (like the worship services—a great place to “come and see” or hear the gospel; or community-oriented events we promote during the summer or once in both the fall and spring semesters) to invite people who are still deciding about Jesus into our community. We want people to feel a sense of belonging before they have to believe. However, Renovate Leadership Trainings are not for guests or people who don’t know Jesus.

Great question. We brought back leader community after the pandemic in 2021-2022, and used that time to re-try the context on Wednesday nights. We’re now excited to launch a two-semester journey of Renovate Leadership Training with different content that will build more systematically and more formally commission young adults at the end of two completed semesters.

If you’ve been a part of our community in the past, we’d love for you to join us for this coming year of training. We think you’ll love it even more!

Here are a few ideas to get you started: bake cinnamon rolls for neighbors, watch a favorite holiday movie, write and mail notes to family members you won’t be seeing over Christmas, go to a Christmas Eve service, make paper snowflakes.
