This week’s lesson continues our focus on what has come to be known as “The Great Hall of Faith.” Chapter 11 of Hebrews is a powerful reminder of the centrality of faith in God’s grand redemptive plan.
David is old and his days on earth are numbered. A shadow of the man he used to be, he remains firmly dedicated to Yahweh. But there will be one last test for David to face before he leaves this life behind.
This is a tough lesson because it starts well but ends poorly. David is nearing the end of his illustrious life, and while he has learned many lessons along the way, he seems to take his eye off the objective as he nears the finish line.
