Jumping back into our 2 Samuel series this week, we see the division of the Kingdom of Israel in the wake of Absalom’s uprising. From what happens in this segment of Scripture we can come to grips the danger and damage that can come from out of divisiveness not only in our lives but the lives of others. What then triggers divisiveness so it can be avoided? Or how is it resolved in reconciliation? Let’s hear what God’s word has to say about it all!
David is old and his days on earth are numbered. A shadow of the man he used to be, he remains firmly dedicated to Yahweh. But there will be one last test for David to face before he leaves this life behind.
This is a tough lesson because it starts well but ends poorly. David is nearing the end of his illustrious life, and while he has learned many lessons along the way, he seems to take his eye off the objective as he nears the finish line.
