There’s more to church than

Sunday worship

We all need a group. You know, a place where everybody knows your name. People who will be there for you. (Do we need to keep going with old-school TV references?) But really, home groups are how a big place starts to feel small. A home group is a place to show up – whatever your day was like – and spend time with more people who love God and want to know you.

Home Groups Q&A

Some of the most frequently asked questions about Christ Chapel home groups.

Sunday worship services are important, but God intended us to gather together in community with other believers. That’s where home groups come in. You’ll have the opportunity to study God’s Word, ask questions, make new friends and just do life together. Some groups meet in a home, others meet online — they all study the message from Sunday’s sermon and pray together. Oh yeah, and usually there’s food. Yeah, we like that too.

Over 50 times in the New Testament, the phrase “one another” is used to describe our relationship to other believers. God tells us to love one another, encourage one another, pray for one another, accept one another, bear one another’s burdens and build up one another. We take those directions seriously, but that doesn’t mean home groups are always serious. There’s food, plenty of laughs — it’s you and friends hanging out!

Most Christ Chapel home groups study Sunday’s sermon as a base for their own small group discussions. They study the same passage and go through questions provided on the Christ Chapel app/on the back of that week’s sermon notes. That way, the whole church is learning and growing together. Sounds good, right?

It’s up to your group! We have groups that meet on almost every day of the week. Some get together every week, twice a month, every month — it’s up to y’all, okay?

Yes! High five. Now, you have a few options:

  • Join an existing group
  • Join a new group
  • Start a group with a few friends

Options 2 and 3 increase the likelihood of getting in a group right away — AND you’ll all start out together. (Ahhh, here’s to the start of a new family!)

Christ Chapel is growing in amazing ways and because of that, we’re looking for more home group leaders! If you have a knack for leading conversations or making people feel at home, fill out the application below.
